Pudsey and Blush Bear Welcomed Back With Open Paws To Build-A-Bear Workshop®

Build-A-Bear Workshop® has partnered with BBC Children in Need for 2012 and are delighted to announce the return of Pudsey and his lovely lady friend, Blush to Build-A-Bear Workshop® stores nationwide and online at www.buildabear.co.uk from 1 October.

Pudsey and Blush will be appearing in all 55 stores across the UK and guests will have the opportunity to make and stuff their beary own BBC Children in Need mascot, add a heart – a Build-A-Bear Workshop® trademark – and if they choose, dress them in pawsome outfits. This year £5 from every sale of Pudsey and Blush bear will go straight back to the BBC Children in Need charity and an additional £1 from the sale of the outfits including Pudsey’s casual jeans, classic Children in Need hoodie and high tops combination and Blush’s beary pretty polka dot skirt and sparkle trim flats.

This year Pudsey and Blush have got a helping paw from their miniature companions-The Blush and Pudsey smallfrys. These are a new addition for the Children in Need 2012 campaign and will also be available in store and online, with a donation of £1 going to Children in Need.

Guests can also play together online for free with their new furry friends at Bearville.com, the company’s virtual world and entertainment destination.  Guests who purchase a Pudsey or Blush Bear can also register them at Bearville.com.

After a hugely successful campaign last year that sold 11,840 bears and raised a bear-illiant £102,000 for BBC Children in Need, this year they are hoping to top this figure with help from Pudsey and Blush. Every sale of Pudsey and Blush will donate £5 to the BBC Children in Need charity which will help to fund grants and projects across the UK aiming to provide disadvantaged children with more opportunities and a better way of life. Every purchase really can change a child’s life for the better.

Roger Parry, Managing Director UK Bear Trading, comments: “We were thrilled with the results of last year’s campaign, which raised a staggering amount for the Children in Need charity and are very pleased to be a partner for the fifth year running. Our aim this year is to supersede last year’s sales and donations and with the help of Pudsey, Blush and the smallfrys we are very confident we can do this. Build-A-Bear Workshop® is a very charity focused company and having the opportunity to help so many children is great!”

“Children are always the main priority for our charity and I know Build-A-Bear Workshop® share this ethic which makes them the perfect partner. I have every faith that they will raise considerable amounts of money for Children in Need and help us to better the lives of children across the UK”, says Carrie Green, Partnership Manager for BBC Children in Need.

Guests can support the cause by purchasing a Pudsey or Blush Bear from any Build-A-Bear Workshop store nationwide or from the company’s website at www.buildabear.co.uk.
Pudsey Bear retails at £15; Pudsey Bear t-shirt at £5; Pudsey Bear slippers at £4.50 each. Blush Bear retails at £15; and the Blush Bear dress at £10 each. Pudsey and Blush smallfrys both retail at £8.
